DENTAL Bridges
A reliable and natural-looking solution to permanently replace missing teeth, restoring your smile's aesthetics and function.
Dental bridges, much like crowns, are utilized to close gaps or spaces between teeth. Just as with crowns, the bridge placement procedure typically spans two dental visits. The initial visit involves the reduction or preparation of the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth. During this appointment, we employ advanced 3D imaging to scan your mouth, eliminating the need for messy impression materials that might cause discomfort or gagging. At the end of the first visit, your dentist will discuss the new shapes, colors, and materials the bridge will be composed of. To safeguard your teeth from any damage or sensitivity, a temporary hard acrylic bridge will be placed until the final visit.
During the second visit, the temporary bridge is removed, and the final product is cemented in place. This visit is usually brief, with results instantly noticeable, effectively filling in the gap and achieving a perfect match with the other teeth.
Dental Bridges can provide the following benefits:
- Permanent tooth replacement option, unlike dentures and flippers, bridges are cemented in place and do not come in and out.
- Fast and Effective. Compared to dental implants, a bridge is much quicker and can easily improve function and esthetics in as few as 2 visits.
- Bridges have advantages over implants in areas where significant bone loss has occurred. No bone grafting needed to replace that missing tooth.
- Strengthening the adjacent teeth, besides the missing tooth, which is to be replaced, the teeth on either side are crowned meaning they will be stronger and more durable than before.
The downside to bridges is that the natural teeth on both sides of the missing tooth will be shaved down for crowns. If unnecessary this can cause the potential for sensitivity or compromise longevity. However, in heavily restored teeth this can add the benefits of protecting those teeth in addition to replacement of the missing tooth.

chris thomas2024-07-12Extremely happy with the care and consideration I received when having a procedure for a dental implant. The entire staff were professional, explained all the steps and stages in detail so I knew exactly what to expect and what next steps were. This included all facets (medical procedure & care, billing and the excellent staff managing the front desk). I am typically a nervous patient and the team ensured that this procedure was painless. Could not be happier with the results.
